  • 2 Million Kazakhstanis Join Nationwide Eco-Movement “Taza Kazakhstan”

Around 2 million people, including 156,000 volunteers, have taken part in the nationwide environmental campaign “Taza Kazakhstan”, aimed at promoting ecological awareness and a culture of environmental responsibility. The figures were presented by Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources of Kazakhstan, Yerlan Nyssanbayev, during a recent government meeting.

Since the beginning of 2025, 573 environmental events have been held across the country — nearly three times more than in 2024 (183). As a result, approximately 189,000 tons of waste have been collected, over 735,000 hectares of land cleaned, and more than 2 million trees planted.

The campaign has united people from all walks of life — not just citizens, but also businesses, which independently organized 281 eco-events.

A key tool in public engagement has been the Telegram chatbot @TazaQazBot, which allows residents to quickly report environmental issues. Since the start of the year, over 11,000 requests have been submitted via the bot, with more than 10,000 already resolved.

The minister also reported progress in urban greening, increasing national forest cover, building new solid waste landfills, and funding projects focused on recycling and waste management.

“Taza Kazakhstan” continues to grow as a nationwide movement, inspiring a culture of ecological consciousness and civic responsibility across the country.
