Kanat Abdiev, a professional diver and resident of Aktau, recently conducted an environmental cleanup operation on the seabed of the Caspian Sea, covering an area of 1,270 meters.
Although Kanat regularly participates in underwater cleanups, he rarely shares the results of his efforts on social media. He notes that the most common types of waste found on the seafloor are plastic bottles, polyethylene bags, and food remnants.
“There is a special chat group for divers in Aktau. Cleanup activities are carried out not only by me but also by other divers. Generally, we often find food waste, plastic bottles, and polyethylene bags on the sea bottom. This time, I cleared a section of the seabed at a depth of 8 to 10 meters underwater and collected one bag of trash. I urge all residents to respect our environment and keep it clean,” said Kanat Abdiev.
