  • Trees in Astana to Receive Digital Passports

Astana has launched an innovative environmental initiative called Green ID, aiming to digitally document trees in the city’s public parks. The project is being carried out in collaboration with the Center for Landscape Design and Architecture under AstanaGenPlan LLP.

    Every Tree Under Watch

As part of the Green ID project, each tree will be equipped with a unique QR code containing essential data such as planting date, last watering, and other key indicators. By scanning the code, residents will be able to monitor the health and status of trees in real time.

    First 50 Trees Already Digitized

According to the Center for Landscape Design and Architecture, approximately 50 trees have already been registered and assigned digital passports. In the next phase, the system is expected to be enhanced with soil moisture sensors, enabling timely detection of water or nutrient deficiencies and ensuring the well-being of urban greenery.

Pilot Project Begins in Two Parks

The pilot phase of the Green ID initiative is currently underway in ZhasStar Park and Lovers’ Park. City officials plan to expand the program to other green zones across Astana in the near future.

This move reflects the city’s broader commitment to smart environmental solutions and sustainable urban planning.
