Atyrau hosted its first-ever “ECO Plogging” environmental campaign as part of the nationwide Taza Kazakhstan program. The event brought together sports, environmental awareness, and community engagement, attracting more than 50 active young participants, infotabigat.kz reports.
The participants ran from Sultan Beibarys Square along the embankment to the pedestrian bridge over the Zhaiyk River while collecting litter along the route.
According to the organizers, the initiative aims to promote environmental responsibility and encourage young people to adopt a healthy lifestyle.
“Today, an environmental plogging event is being held on the initiative of the Atyrau Regional Youth Resource Center. The main goal of the campaign is to develop environmental culture among young people and promote a healthy lifestyle,” said M. Sagidollayeva, head of the Youth Resource Center.
School students, college students, and representatives of volunteer organizations actively participated in the event. Participants noted that such initiatives help strengthen environmental awareness and unite people around positive community actions.
