The Republican Women’s Congress of Kazakhstan’s Baytaq Green Party was held in Astana, bringing together 32 delegates from across the country to elect a new Chair of the Women’s Council, reports infotabigat.kz
Party leader Amazatkhan Amirtayev addressed the gathering, outlining a number of ecological, social, and cultural initiatives while emphasizing the growing role of women in politics. He noted that during the 2023 local elections, around 200 candidates represented the Baytaq Party, 15% of whom were women. The party now aims to increase that share eightfold in the coming years.
“We need strong female leaders. Active women from all regions of our country should take part in lawmaking and contribute to national progress. Through our women’s wing, we can make that happen. For the next elections, we plan to nominate 1,600 candidates, with 30% being women. Today’s congress marks the beginning of that journey, and we will strengthen the work of the Women’s Council,” said Amirtayev.

Roza Kenzhebekova was nominated for the position of Chair and was unanimously elected by the delegates.

“Thank you for your trust! My goal is to bring women’s interests to the international stage, to amplify the voices of women in rural areas, support their projects, boost civic engagement, and help them pursue entrepreneurship,” said the newly elected Chair, Roza Kenzhebekova.
